Otter Tales
| One day when I was with my cousin we went up to a hill
across this lake. Well my cousin and I were walking around and we went over
to a place with a pond and we saw an otter. My cousin and I sat there for
hours and we finally decided on a name. We named him Chipper-Chip-Chip.
After a bit we left. We thought that probably we'll see the otter the next
time we visit the lake. After about a week or so we went back to the lake with some friends. We were going to have a bonfire. Well when we got there we went to go check out the pond were we had seen the otter before and it was still there. The other friends knew about it because when we went over back at the house when we went the first time we told them about it but they weren't crazy about it. That was the first otter that I ever named and it was really hard to think of the perfect name but I liked the one we chose. Maybe some day you'll name an otter. Shawna W. | This one time I saw an otter in my dog's
mouth. I think it was dead. But anyways, if you read Shawna's story about

| At the South Naknek turkey shoot we were
shooting at the 22 caliber spot and on the lake behind it where you shoot
towards there was an otter. Everybody was watching it. When I was up
to shoot I looked at it with the scope on the rifle and I was ready to

| One day I went to the
turkey shoot. I saw a giant river otter and it looked like it was 6 feet
long. It was on the ice sliding into the water and swimming to the beach.
Then it would swim back to the ice, climb out, and slide back into the
